TOPIC: Error in moved crystal report

Error in moved crystal report 18 Jan 2007 08:02 #1659

I am fairly new to crystal so please bare with me.

I created a crystal report and copied it along with the blackbaud mdb file (the data file) to a new folder that is accessable to all users and thus allows them to run the report from the custom reports button.

I used DatabaseSet Location in crystal to point the report to the data (answered yes when asked if I want to "propagate" to all). I am now getting an error when I try to run the report Error "Can not open" "file could not be found" and it refers to each of the table names in the report one by one.

What am I doing incorrectly?

all users must have that drive mapped to the same letter.

Also, within the report file you must set the new location of the MDB.

I tested it on my own machine and 1 other user who has the drive mapped to the same letter.
I'm sorry, what do you mean by "within the report file you must set the new location of the MDB" Isn't that what I did? I was in the crystal report file and went to databaseset location. Is there somewhere else I need to set this path?
The path that shows in the box is identical to the path to the mdb file and to where the the crystal report file is located.

Hi Melody,

It sounds like Pete's first requirement may be the culprit. I had a situation that almost drove me insane until I discovered that some people had the drive X mapped to the server, and others had drive Y.

Check the drive mapping for someone who gets the error message.

Also make sure you are trying to run it from custom reports, yourself.

Good luck.
