This should be something simple so I'm probably just missing something here.

I have a relatively straightforward fund query but I want to "yank out" some oddballs. If I'm doing this with constituent records, I usually use the "specific record" not one of and then I can search for the oddball records I want to pull.

I'm not seeing a similar thing for fund queries, and when I try to do "Fund ID" not one of, it doesn't seem to be working.

Anyone out there who can help?

Fund ID not one of should work just fine. What do you mean by it is not working?

I think I have it working but one thing is kind of weird. In the Fund ID window that comes up, when you hit the binoculars to enter the fund ID and find the fund, there's a search field in the Selected Funds window. When I was entering the fund ID in this search field to find the fund I wanted to exclude and hit the Find Now button, nothing was displaying on the list below. But if I just slog through the listing of all the funds in that same window I can highlight it and move it over to the "Include these Funds" window to the right.

So I'm not quite understanding what the search feature is/isn't doing here, but if I just slog through and select them individually from the long list I'm OK.

Aha - that is an altogether different question. This is an annoying and bizarre thing. That search screen is dependent on your user options for displaying funds. If you have yours set to display long descriptions then you have to search on the long description (not the ID) and vice versa. But the person next to you may have a different user option so it works differently.

I am constantly changing my display options because they affect reports as well and while I prefer IDs personally, on some reports i need to share I want the long description so I go back and forth.

Then when I get to this screen it is hit or miss whether or not I am searching on ID or description. VERY Annoying but that seems to be what may be happening for you.

You're totally right (of course)!!! If I enter text in the search then I can find the funds. I also toggle this setting from ID to description sometimes. So that's the answer, thanks so much!
