I've given access for a co-worker to a few reports in Crystal (stand-alone, not in RE). She has read/write access for the rpt files. The thing is that I authenticate with a username and password to the server and she has Windows Authentication. Once she's checked the "Trusted Connection" box and saved, I no longer get the option to log in, and I can't refresh the report.
How I access the window to allow me to log in using my credentials? Read More...
Great, thanks all! By populatity, I'm leaning toward d. When you say "write off" what do you mean? We want to make sure it doesn't come up in reports or anything. I see that there's an option for "terminated" as a status... what else might you do? Read More...

For screenshots, I now use Jing. It takes less than 5 minutes to install and get set up, and it gives you a tutorial at the get go. The only negative is that you’re limited to 5 minutes for videos, and it’s usually PLENTY of time. www.techsmith.com/jing.html
I've been using it for a few months now, and my only regret is that I didn't hear about it soone Read More...
Two questions: How many constituents are you soft crediting for each gift? Are the constituents and the amounts the same every quarter?
If it is the same constituents and amount every quarter, I would set it up as a batch, apply the soft credits then manually set it as recurring each quarter (updating the applicable information like gift date, check number, etc). This would keep the soft credit list, and you could easily modify it, given that the list is almost the same each quarter. Read More...

I use Crystal Reports to connect directly to the BBNC data in the Raiser's Edge. I'm sure you know that Net Community provides a report for each individual message, as well as overall analytics (how many messages were sent per year, etc.), but when I want to get the data integrated with the RE data (in your case, their gender and age), connecting directly with the database works best for me. A donor that regularly gives to our organization had made a pledge last year. He has made no payments to the pledge. Now, he has requested that we replace that pledge with another pledge (for a different amount), with the same campaign/fund/appeal. How would you record this?
a) Adjust the "old" pledge to the new amount, add a gift note explaining the change.
b) Adjust the "old" pledge to $0, add a gift note. Add the new pledge separately.
c) Delete the "old" pledge. Add the new pledge sepa Read More...
