TOPIC: Duplicates!!!

Re: Duplicates!!! 26 Jun 2012 14:24 #40626

David designed the Mergician as he says above.

See his website for more info - www.zeidman.info/

He has a solution but it is not a one time service, it is a product you purchase and keep. Apparently Mark wanted the opposite.

Claire,

Our product, The Mergician, has been mass merging records for a while now. However that is only the part of it. When you merge records in RE you also end up creating a lot of duplicate data within one record such as duplicate constituent codes, attributes, addresses, etc. The Mergician will optionally clean up all of this duplicate information too.

If you have any questions then feel free to contact me.

David - is there any feature in the Mergician which will clean up full constituent spouses and make them non-constituent? Essentially Moving all information from the full constituent spouse to the other main record then breaking the link with the non-constituent, then deleting the full constituent?

I need to clean up full spouses we have and make them non-constituents. Some of these people have gifts, notes, actions, etc that need to be moved before I can break the link and delete the full record. It would be great if the Mergician could help with this.

Unfortunately not. It is not something that any of our users have asked us about (as far as I am aware at least). I am not really sure how it would work in a generic way to work for all users organizations.
