use the "in operator:

if "text" in {field}
then "Yep"
else
"Nope

"in" evaluates to a boolean - true or false.

We turned on BBNC Spark this week Yay!

approximate size your institution however you can:

- number of alumni/constituents - about 3500 Constituents in RE, but our Membership and Admissions are tracked in other systems. About 22,000 members and 371,000 visitors last year.
- number of employees - around 150
- fundraising staff - 7

Who supports BBNC at your institution? Our IT department is really str

• When I was a consultant we'd often battle between Convio and BBNC. Not the same battle anymore these days, but at the tie it was the classic "best of breed" vs integration discussion.

Our org just implemented BBNC as a replacement for a very customized solution that was run through our org's POS system. It was impossible for us to change or update and we had to go through the vendor to do things.

In that scenario BBNC was a clear choice because the integration with RE addressed a very rea

This is the best post in the history of ever.

That tool isn't on the site anymore. Jobs are posted in their sub-forum as new threads, but there isn't anywhere to do the things that feature used to do.

Sorry

• Peter Gulka replied to the topic Re: Interesting UI glitch in the forums.
In and of itself it really is one of those "huh... that's kind of weird" things. I am more concerned about what it represents - the architecture of a 32-bit windows application coded in VB6/C+ is slowly but surely diverging from the architecture of modern operating systems. As time goes on there aren't going to be ways to compensate for things like this without major workarounds and Blackbaud doesn't have anything coming down the pipe to replace it.

No - I'm not counting Bluebird.

• Peter Gulka created a new topic What systems do you use at your non-profit? in the forums.
We're undergoing a site-wide assessment and review of all our business systems and are starting to compile a list of alternative products and vendors for some of our systems. Your help in growing the list of options is appreciated!

I'll go first!

System Vendor: Blackbaud
System Name: Raiser's Edge
Version: 7.92.0
Department that uses it: Development

System Vendor: SiriusWare
System Name: SiriusWare
Version: 4.1
Department that uses it: Guest Services, Membership, School Programs,

• We sent out a mailing a couple of weeks ago with 4 packages and added the to RE. Easy peasy.

For those who have not responded we are following up with phone calls. I realized I have never run into this scenario from a record-keeping point of view.

How do I record the phone calls? Is it a separate Appeal? Package? Something else?

• Peter Gulka replied to the topic Re: report works in crystal, not in RE in the forums.
Is it user security by Constituent Code?

Can the users for whom the report does not work actually open the Cons record for someone who should appear on the report?

Also - check date settings on the computers - conflicts of DD/MM/YYYY vs MM/DD/YYYY might influence the parameters.

• Peter Gulka replied to the topic Re: My Dup Report... in the forums.
Yup...

Your best bet for flagging the confirmed false positives is this: BB729454

Unfortunately that is a one-at-a-time venture, but still is a net improvement over not having the ability to mark records as not duplicates. I'm starting with the instances in the reports where there's a section of 10-15 records that the system thinks are all dupes of each other.

• Peter Gulka replied to the topic Re: Crystal Report - Formula Advice. in the forums.
1. Add the field to your report. You'll notice that when disaplyed in the Details area or a Group header it displays as "True" or "False"

2. Right-click on the field, and select "Format Field". You should see a window appear, and be placed on the "Boolean" tab.

3. Change the "Boolean Text" drop-down to "Yes or No".

4. Profit!

Can you provide a link to that requirement? This is the first I've heard of it.
