hey guys,
i was reviewing our constituent codes, and i notice that one of them is somewhat redundant. we have a friend/general contributor code for anyone who gives but has done nothing else. in you experience, should i delete that code or set up end dates for it? and if so, why keep that code?

I don't have a problem deleting unused or redundant Constituent Codes. Every time I have done this, it has helped the organization. Typically, there was not enough thought into entering the code in the first place, so it is not missed.

Make sure that you do your due diligence by talking to the department before making this change, and also that you are not leaving any records with no CCs. Check back in your predecessor's documentation to see if/how this code was used in the past.
