I am working with a RE database that is the end result of three separate databases merged into one (one RE and two ResultsPlus). As you can imagine I have coding issues up the wazoo and 313 funds (seriously). The unrestricted annual giving fund, for example, is coded differently in about 12 instances. My question is -- can funds be merged? I would like to code all of our annual giving funds as simply AG-Unrestricted.

You can not merge, per se, but you can globally change them. Make a
query of the gifts that contain the 11 funds you want to get rid of and
globally change the fund on those gifts to the 1 that you want to keep.

Remember to make a backup immediately prior to any global changes in
case anything goes wrong.

Also remember that funds live in other places besides gifts (proposals,
actions, solicitor assignments, and more) you will need to decide where
else you may want to do a similar global change.
