Organization Publication Name?

i've been formatting the names for our annual report, and i realized that organization don't have a salutation tab, and thus, no space to fill in a publication name. is there some kind of equivalent so that i can merge all the organization onto my annual donor list?

I use an attribute called Published Name fro this purpose. Granted, it isn't in the same field as the Recognition Addressee that I use for individuals, but I export to Excel and combine the two fields there before merging. Not a perfect solution, but not a bad one, either.

Organization Publication Name?

I do the same as Jo. It takes very little time to sort and merge in
Excel. I highly recommend that you include "Sort key" in your export.

Organization Publication Name?

Good suggestion Michael! It is so ingrained in me that every export
include both the Sort Key and the Constituent ID that I forget to
mention it in my posts. The Sort Key is to make Excel realize that The
ABC Corp. should sort into the A' rather than the T's. The Constituent
ID is so that if I later want to add some data to this particular group
of constituents, I can import the data back in. This has happened in
amny cases where it was not anticipated, so I just include the ID in
every export, just in case.

When I use query or export to extract data for publications, the Org name appears in the PRIMARY Addressee & Salutation fields....I'm not sure if this is a special business rule we activated, but you shouldn't need to create an additional Add/Sal field just for organization records?

Add/Sal Exports Org Name

Apparently, sometimes the way an org appears in your org name is
different from how they want to appear in publications. (I have never
had a request like this but apparently others have) The only good
choices I have heard of are alias and an attribute - both need to be
exported and will never be able to be used in place of a name in any
canned reports which is unfortunate.

Oh, sorry! I misunderstood the original question...I thought he/she was asking how to populate an Add/Sal when org records don't have the Add/Sal field per se. Thanks for clarifying Melissa.
