Dear all,
I have been asked to produce a audit report on the data quality of Raisers Edge. I have begun to create queries for the most obvious things like title missing, postcode blank, addressee/Salutation blank etc... Is there anything else outside of the norm I could include in my report to determine whether we need to pay for the clean up to be done externally.
My biggest challenge has usually been incorrectly linked records and/or addresses. There is a plug-in available to find unlinked spouse records, and some query comparisons and work in external programs to identify other address sharing issues.
These are where I find people really stumped as to how to fix these linking issues, so it really merits consideration for "professional" clean-up.
It seems like when records are converted into RE (from another system) they don't go in with any linking in place (record or address linking). Can anyone comment on this?

All advice will be appreciated.
Many Thanks

Unless you specifically tell it what record to link to (using the import id or system record is, depending on how much RE is on its oats because I swear this changes with every upgrade), it will not create the link between the two records.
The other catch is you can't always (especially starting from a blank database) even create the relationships until the records both exist. What I would do is create the records, keeping a separate spreadsheet of who is related to whom, then use import queries to get the correct IDs for linking back out of the database (note: you cannot use Constituent IDs to do the linking, which SUCKS, and I always have to do it at least twice to find the right ID to do the link). Then you can import the relationship using the "relationship link" in an individual relationship import, and making sure the "reciprocate relationships" checkbox is checked...
We've been fighting this in our database lately...

I've found "ghost" records where a company/business relationship was only on the individual's record and didn't have its own record. So John Doe and Jane Smith may both work for XYZ comp. which has its own record but only Jane is linked to XYZ comp. John only has XYZ on his record.
