Thanks for your reply - we're trying to get some type of answer from
Blackbaud as far as what impact on performance embedding objects has.
So far we're not getting a clear answer (or one that makes sense to us
anyway!) They keep talking about database size, but we ran into a
problem in FE with this when they scanned a whole bunch of agreements
and embedded them into the FE database. It really affected the database
performance even though the size of the database wasn't all that big.



So that's why for now we're assuming that linking is the better way to
go. I'm finding very little in any docuemntation or solutions about
this - but a lot of people have had to run into this issue.

link to a .jpg. I dealt with this with a photo project we were doing and
had to convert all of the photos to .bmp in order to link them but they
take up so much space. Also, There is somewhere in either this forum or

them embedded objects instead of links does not cause performance
problems in your database (which is frequently someone's argument for
not using embedded media objects). Do you have a reason why you want to
