I was wondering if any of you have come across this situation, and how are you dealing with it? Here is the scenario:

I am importing a database of radio stations for marketing and sending Public Service Announcements (PSA). The database lists the letters of the station (ie WDPC AM) as the Org Name, with address for that particular station. It then lists contacts (some with their own email addresses), and a name of their Owning Organization (with no specific address for the Own. Org.).

As I’ve been working through preparing the data files for the import, I’ve come across some stations with the same contact as General Manager. One person in particular is the GM for at least 10 stations. My main issue is that any Contact that is contact of more than one station will receive multiple mailings…and this one contact will receive 10 mailings!

I’ve thought through different scenarios to help resolve this. I can’t decide which is the best way to handle it, so I am coming to you… Dear Blackbus. Can you help me brainstorm?

Add all the Contacts as Individuals and link them?
Add Owning Org as the main record, but then each station might not end up with the proper PSA?
