Question Can I replicate the relationship tree from one record to another?

Mr. & Mrs. Smith & their 6 children are all linked together. The original M/M Smith also have all their siblings/cousins, etc linked. Is there a way I can replicate those links appropriately to their children or do I have to go record by record? There are lots of family relationships & I'd hate to have to do each one individually if I don't have to.

Thanks!

It's probably just easier to use the relationship tree (the little tree icon in the constituent toolbar).

Copying relationships is complicated, because the relationship of one person to another does not always translate easily to a third.

Consider the following:

My kids could be be siblings or half-siblings to each other.

My aunt/uncle could be related to my cousins as parent/child or aunt/uncle//niece/nephew or as distant in-laws.

The question you need to ask is what you hope to gain by having this information duplicated on each of the kid's records. Is it going to help you raise more money, etc.? Having a piece of information doesn't mean that the information serves a useful purpose. I would only copy the relationships to the kid's records if there is some value in having it on the record.

I don't think it's helpful to have at all, but the powers that be think so. Now that I know it'll be a pain to do I'm going to try & reason with them. Thanks.
