When we got involved in the beta program a couple weeks ago the tone was
that this was a very late-in-the-game beta with no real specific issues to
resolve. As for specific release dates or if any changes have been made to
the patch since the beta build I don't know.

We upgraded RE from 7.81 to 7.85 over the weekend. At the same time we upgraded Patron Edge and Financial Edge. We upgrade once a year in the summer. We don't even add patches throughout the year. We had no problems with these products. The upgrades however knocked our Patron Edge Online product out of commission for the weekend due to old .dlls still being registered.
Everything is fine now. When did they start requiring 8 characters for new or changed passwords?

Michael, I'm glad that your upgraded ended up being fine. I always dread upgrading as in the past something has always gone wrong - some feature was "fixed" that wasn't broken in our opinion. But anyway, thanks for mentioning the password length. I didn't know about that.

characters. Is the 8-character password a requirement? Is this in 7.85

I believe that the 8-character minimum was introduced in 7.81. You can keep any password that is shorter than eight characters, but if you add or change a password, you have to enter one that is at least eight characters.

Glad everything worked out too! I noticed the 8 character password change in our current version, which is 7.83. As Drew stated, the change is for new or changed passwords, the passwords that had never been changed can continue to be less than the 8 character minimum.
