I'm wondering if there is a set date for RE8 release? and if someone can tell me what version(s) would be out by 2nd quarter 2009. Thanks.

Oh it's a couple of years away yet. 7.xx will continue to be developed and
released for some time after RE8 is released, but probably only for bug
fixes. New functionality will be reserved for RE8.

I had asked BB the same question in looking ahead at budgets and future hardware upgrades and they responsed with:

"...the release of version 8 is still several years away and once we release it, we will continue to support version 7 for many years after that. As in the case with the upgrade from version 6 to 7, we supported 6 for about 5 years after 7 was released."

Hi. I'm pretty new to the RE world. We're on version 7.85, which I believe is still the most current.

I heard a rumor from someone who's been doing freelance RE work for a long time that RE8 might be coming out sometime in 2009. Has anyone else heard anything similar or contradictory? Thanks In Advance.
