We upgraded to 7.83 last week. No hiccups yet. We were pushed into it as our whole school is moving to office 2007. Jumped from 7.81 rev 25 to 7.83 rev 2.

We just upgraded to 7.83 because we were moving into the new Office as well. Suddenly the tributes stopped working. Been on hold w/ support for about 15 minutes.
Aaarrgh! Did anybody else have a problem with the tribute acknowledgments?

Apparently the upgrade corrupted the tribute letters that had been setup in the previous version. I had to recreate them, but now they're working just fine.

We did experience a couple of flukes with the upgrade to 7.83. I haven't seen these mentioned, so I'll pass them along. It had to do with user options and checkmarks for some of the options. In particular, the checkmarks to check record tabs for data disappeared in a few instances - probably only about 5 for all of the record types, but enough to be disconcerting. The other involved the checkmark for Load defaults now on several of our default sets. Both easy to fix and no problems since.
Other than these items and a lot of disconnects from our server (still under investigation, but I suspect it is on our end because of some other connectivity issues we have), there have been no problems with our upgrade.

We have a large amount of mail merges and contract exports in our database, and we'll be setting up a test copy of RE just to make sure the upgrade doesn't futz anything up. I'll post the results this week or next.
We're forced into this upgrade after uncovering a complicated bug in which our contracts cannot be opened by more than one user, and they stay "opened" even after another user closes the export. I guess the version we're on, 7.81, had a similar bug in batches that was fixed and should be working in 7.83.

I've been testing our upgrade for about a day and haven't found any errors. We've got a few more days of testing before we take this live, though, so I'll post again if we find anything.

We've been working with the new system for two weeks now, and everything seems to be in order. There's a little "re-training" necessary since some of the views and options have changed. The event module looks very different in the participant record and I'm still trying to get used to it.

We have had bugs and still have. I have not seen these listed. It did something to our Address Accelerator and it was out for two days. It is working now. We could not get into our efiles. It was giving me funny error messages in TRE, which seems to be worked out now. I have to lock and unlock the taskbar to get it to show in RE, which is STILL not working. We have requested to go back to the older version just because of that. Some of us have had trouble with the mapping. I have not been able to repeat that error yet. The hiding of the task bar as well as any records, queries, etc. that you have pulled up is annoying. All the minimizing was impossible. The work around they gave us is ok, but still annoying.

I've been on 7.83 since beta and haven't found any significant problems. I know that one of the problems I have is taking enough time to check out the changes - usually I end up finding them when I'm doing my normal tasks. I know I'd like to make more time to understand the changes fully after any update or change. Wishful thinking......

Hi Jo,
Are you guys using Citrix? We just upgraded to Ver 7.83 last week and have been experiencing RE7.Exe errors and disconnects from the database. We have a 3 tier setup and use Citrix Presentation Server to access RE. Our software is Oracle engine, and we have one server for the RE application and one server for our Data. We have a very large database (over 14 million gifts, and 900,000 constituents), no joke.
Has anyone else been experiencing problems like this?
