On one workstation, there is a standalone application (not on the network) called eMedia Card Designer. It is used to print ID badges on small, plastic cards.
Since installing 7.81, everytime RE is opened on that workstation, it tries to open eMedia! We can cancel it and get into RE, but then whenever we open any record, it tries again to open eMedia. RE support has no idea how this could happen. My plan is to first uninstall eMedia, reinstall and try again. If that doesn't work, I'll uninstall RE and eMedia and reinstall both and see what happens.
I just wondered if any of you have ever encountered a similar problem with RE.

I haven't had this happen but I have had RE overwrite a font that was installed with our student services program and was used on student billing statements. Fortunately, this only affected a couple of machines and the student services provider wrote us a custom pbd that returned the font to its original state.

I've had the reverse happed - installing Adobe Acrobat Professional 7 borked the integration between RE & Word - I couldn't design, view or print custom letters any more.
After this upgrade, I've had a workstation want to install some components for PalmOne software when launching RE. I could only surmise that this was due to the Office integration. We put in teh PalmOne disk, installed the software, and all is fixed.
The same exact thing happened a few months ago with a different upgrade, with a different user, on a different workstation.
Every so often I would start RE and instead of getting the menu option of being able to select either the live database or the sample database I would get a Windows explorer screen inside that Raiser's Edge splash screen. Now that was impressive. I could open files from it or navigate Windows in just the same way as I could via the regular Windows Explorer. Nobody at BB had seen or heard of this before. It would happen sporadically on my machine. No discernable pattern to it.
