I'm trying to run my first Job Assignment report for volunteers at an event for tomorrow night but I'm having a bit of trouble.
If I print it sorting by Constituent, the jobs are not in chronological (time not date) order.
If I print it sorting by query order, the constituent names are not listed, even though the header row says they should be just above the Enet name. They are off to the side on my screen but won't print on the actual report (at least they're not showing on the print screen, I haven't seen the printed report b/c someone's hogging the printer)
Does this problem sound familiar to anyone?

Leslie,
Are you using the flag under Sort/Break on the Format tab that says Sort by Query order? Also, what type of query did you use, Consittuent or Job? Let's see if we can trouble shoot this because you should be able to see the Constituent name with no problem-o.

yes I am

Sandy
I did a job query, I'll try a constituent query and see if that changes it.
OK thought I'd try before I responded. And it sort of worked.
There was also a "trick". I had originally asked it to sort by constituent and left it on the right when I ticked sort by query, but if I put it back on the left and then sorted by query, it printed the volunteers names.
Now the problem is: the jobs in chronological order. I did the constituent query and sorted Ascending by constituents and then start time of the job. It shows correctly after the Run, but the jobs still print on the report all willy-nilly.
At least the names are there, I can colour code the timings if necessary...
Thanks so much, I was in such I rush yesterday I didn't even consider trying a different kind of query.

Unfortunately not, but I did have the Assignements filtersed to include selected (all of the ones involved with the event) so I changed that back to Include All and it moved the assignments around on the report but still not in Start time order...
OK, I was trying some variations... I also changed the Assingment Date to use FROM Specific Range (the Event date, which all the assigments were coded as originally) TO Include All Dates. Almost everybody is in order...
Actually, now that I'm "colouring", it seems to be in the exact order that I entered them into each volunteers' record! I missed two jobs so they are at the bottom of the 2 volunteers involved and 2 hours of jobs were intertwined, but I entered all of one first and then the next even if it was later that the first job.
I think it's close enough that it won't be too confusing. Maybe I can check tomorrow that I grabbed the right start time? It's the only thing I can think is missing.
Thanks for your help.
