Query/Report/Export Event

I would like to have this information from participants for Event "A" who have made "other donation" or purchased "Registration units"
- ConstID, SortyKey, Name, Appeal, Gift Date, Gift Type, Gift Sub-type, Gift Amount & Registration Units (if they have one).
Here is how I am running it:
- Query: Event ID = "A" AND Appeal ID = "ID" (all donations go to this appeal)and it pulls the right number of donor/participants. But the problem is my OUTPUT fields. So when I choose the gift Amount/type/subtype/Appeal from the GIFT section/tab, they show up four times if they purchases two different type of units. However, It will work when they have only "Other Donation".

- I thought Export is going to remove the duplicates but it did not.

Adbi,
If you export from Export instead of Query, it will let you choose exactly how many Gift fields to export per Constituent (in a Constituent Export)l. In either a Gift or Constituent Export, you can filter which gifts are exported by Campaign, Fund, Appeal, or query. SO, if they all are given to the same appeal, it's very easy to do in Export. If they gave multiple Other Donations or multiple gifts to that appeal, each gift will be there in a Gift Export. In a Constituent export, it will pull the maximum of number of gifts based on your criteria.
This is a classic example of why we recommend that in most cases, you Export from Export,
not Query
Let me know if you need further explanation or help.
Kind regards,

Is this a participant query or a gift query?

It sounds like you tried export and still got the duplicates? What kind of export - Constituent or gift?

Hi Melisa,
I tried constituent query first & when I set the number of gift to be exported in the parameter, it will export other gifts from other event they participated. So for instance, if I set parameter to export 5 gift, it will export five gifts from that event first. However, if there is no five gifts from that event, it will look for other event they have participated and export up to five gifts.

Solution to this problem:
I used participant export type and it worked that way if they do not have the 5 gift limit set in the paramter, it will export nothing more than those gifts linked to that event.

Thank you all for your input...
