I'm looking for sample content of Tribute type letters. I have never written any and Monday we received a donation online "in honor of". We have no existing samples. I'm not talking about the "code" portion of the letter, I need examples of the letters themselves. Would anyone be willing to share?

Hello,

Here is the generic letter that we use. I hope this helps!! Please let me know if you have any questions.

"We have been blessed by your gift of $XX to Wesleyan Village in honor of XXX in support of our ministry to older adults.

Your gift will enable us to provide charitable care to older adults whose resources are depleted. We believe this care to be at the heart of our mission to provide premier residences and services to senior adults in a Christian environment.

Wesleyan Village take pride in the charitable care we offer, yet we cannot accomplish our mission without the help of generous donors like you.

a sample of an IHO letter in this case to a scholarship fund. Hope this helps

"On behalf of The Cleveland Institute of Art, I gratefully acknowledge receipt of your gift of $50.00. As you indicated, your contribution is made in honor of Name on their 50^th wedding anniversary, and will be directed to support the Fishman Memorial Scholarship Fund. We will notify Name that a gift was made to the school in their honor. We will also notify Name children, Mitch, Paula and Jay, that a contribution has been made to the Fishman Scholarship Fund.

The Sallie Fishman Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Sculpture was awarded last year for the first time. For the 2007-08 school year, a scholarship has been awarded to a talented sculpture student who is from the area.

The Cleveland Institute of Art has a long-standing reputation as one of the nation’s premier independent schools of art and design. Your financial support helps us continue our mission to provide the best possible educational experience for our students. We are most grateful for your support."

I don't have an Honoree letter as we hand write it on a note card. but something like " a gift has been made in your honor to X Scholarship Fund by Name, address. " We do not give out the dollar amount.

Maybe we should start some kind of stock letter repository. The Shared
Files section of the site is not ideal for that.

That sounds like a great idea. Though since I'm new, I'm not sure why that's a bad location, it's where I initially looked.
