Prospect Management (Moves Management) in RE with Prospect Module
Several people have emailed recently and asked about best practices on Prospect Management or Moves Management within Raiser's Edge. Rather than replying to each, I decided to create a thread and direct them here.
That said, I didn't wan't a long thread with screenshots, etc.; so rather than sharing written policy & procedures documents, take a look at this presentation (narrated screencast) of a Raiser's Edge-based Prospect Management system -- you can watch a public version at the following link:

I watched this presentation when you posted it a few weeks ago. It was easy to follow. We have a few more fields on the proposal record, such as likelihood of gift and date rated, which is the date the likelihood was assigned.
One of the challenges, which we have yet to tackle, is how to write benchmarking reports that track the number of days a proposal stays in a certain status.
We do have reports that show which proposals are in certain statuses, by gift officer. We also have a suite of metrics reports that report on proposals and proposal actions.

Just reading your question about tracking the days that a proposal is open and you can either use the Proposal Pipeline Report under Reports or the Prospect Pipeline Report under Dashboard. You can choose to organise it via prospect or proposal status and then canvasser.
