The problem is that although there is a salutation field, when I do the merge, the salutation is the addressee.
As an example, I have Mr. & Mrs. Michael Nichols as the addressee in the constituent record and then Mr. & Mrs. Nichols as the salutation. But when it merges, it merges both as the addressee so all my letters are coming out addressed to the full name: Dear Mr. & Mrs. Michael NIchols.
Is there somewhere else that it is pulling this salutation from?
Are you clicking the options button to select the appropriate salutation? For some unknown reasson Blackbaud had defaulted the salutation field to the Preferred Addressee. It's extremely annoying to have to change it every time.
