We are in the process of integrating RE and CLASS, and I need to import information from a CLASS generated report into RE.
The problem is that the ID that is liked between the two databases is the System Record ID, not the Constituent ID or the Import ID. Thus, I am not able to directly use this report to import information into RE because it does not have the ID I need and I can't get the correct ID through CLASS.
Any ideas on how to make this work? The only thing I could think of was to export all RE constituent System Record ID's and Constituent ID's into Access, then match it up based on System Record ID with the excel report generated from CLASS.
So of course I am biased but I would probably write a really simple plugin that looks up the import id or constituent id based on the system id. This is would take about a couple of hours to put together as it is fundamentally straight forward (if you know how to write plugins)
I told you it would take a couple of hours and it has. I need to just test it and then I will make it freely available to anyone that wants it via my site. I'll let you know when it is available. Watch this space...
You could try this to solve your problem - I've done this recently to get two databases to talk to one another.
In RE, if you're not using it, use the Social Security Number (or in the UK, National Insurance Number) field to hold the CLASS URN field.
You can change the name of the Field in configuration to something appropriate. This has the advantage that users can search on the CLASS URN and you can import on the CLASS URN.
