I am trying to think of a way to get consecutive givers in a query (or report). What I first did was do a constituent query for donors who gave every month for the past 24 months. It was a long query to build. Now after some meetings with others in my department they are concerned that we are missing people who give "consecutively" in that time frame but may have for some reason stopped giving consecutively or missed one month or something like that. I have no idea how I can find these constituents if they don't give "consecutively"...which to me, means every single month in the time frame, as the query asked.
One Blackbaud analyst told me that I could build 6 different queries, just starting with the first month and asking for people who give every month for the 6 months, and then go back one month and ask the same thing, and keep going back a month until I cover a whole year's time span. Oh and then I would have to merge all 6 of these queries to get my final list of constituents. And that would give me 1 year's time span, not 2.

I have no idea what to do....any suggestions???

I asked that same question a while ago and got the following response whcih worked for Calendar year and probably will work for monthly:
"There is a very simple solution - use a Pivot Report. My columns are year and constituent count (counts number of gifts for each year.) It allows you to show donations by year, with blanks in years not given. I just ran a similar report to find a list of donors who have given in at least different 10 years (consecutive or not) out of the last 15 years.

I wanted to add an attribute to those who met certain criteria, so I exported the data to Excel and added a Count function to the end of each line, and that gave the total number of different years each person gave. I then created an import file to add the attribute for those with 10 or more years given.
