Hi everyone,

Each month, we would like to pulls everyone who made a donation in that month and code them, based on their current fiscal year giving, with one of these attributes: Shinning start ($100-$999), Rising Star (1000-9,999) & North Star (10,000 +). We want to count in-kind only if it is over 5,000 value. But we also want to keep track of those who are moving from one level to another.


Any Idea or suggestions are appreciated.

I would use one of the Donor Category reports. You may have to tweak your results to accommodate your gift-in-kind restrictions, but that's pretty easy to do if you get an output query from the report.

I would suggest a multi-step solution. First, run the Donor Category report with In Kinds excluded on the Gift Types tab and creating an output query. (Be aware also that this report includes Pledges by default, so be sure to remove them if youdon't want them). Then, I'd run another one based on a gift query Gift amount>= $5k. and include only In Kind. Again creating the output query. Next, I'd merge the 2 queries with an AND operator. Finally, to see your increased givers, you could run the Comparative report based on that query, selecting the periods you want to copmare.
