A third party vendor has run a wealth screening for a client of mine. The file they returned has Import IDs and URLs to their site where the results are for a particular constituent.
The client is under the impression from the vendor that this can be imported to the Prospect tab and the URL will be a live/clickable link.
I see where I could import Ratings data, but this does not appear to make live links (from my manual entry testing).
The other two places where it looks like I could import it are Attributes (not as a live link?) or as a Bio 1 Link (which would make a live link).
Unfortunately the person who the vendor says would be able to help me is on vacation through next Thursday and I'd like to get this resolved before then.
It appears that either the expectation of having a live link in the Prospect tab is not realistic and/or this must be imported to the Bio area to be a live link.
I'd avoid this if at all possible. Links go dead or change and then your
data is gone. If it is just links you can't do any querying or anyhting
really inside RE.
Go back and ask if there is any way you can get a report generated with the
raw data you can import.

I agree with Peter. I have never heard of a vendor only supplying a hyperlink for prospect information. Don't they want to keep the information indefinitely? - what happens when the contract with the vendor is over? Typically vendors give you raw data (either as an import file or as an access database, in my experience). Being able to use the data inside RE to do mailing lists, etc. is going to be critical and if the vendor says you can use their system, remember that the data you sent will quickly get old as you update addresses, gifts, etc. in RE.
If you still want to import the hyperlink - have you thought about importing to the Media tab? Ii have never done it so I can't say it is possible but that would be a good place for a hyperlink.
If you wanted a live link, you could import it as a "phone number" of type "web address/url," and it would be clickable/launchable. I think this is a fairly messy solution, but it should work.
That said, I completely agree that the data itself needs to be imported to make useful. Keeping key data, like prospect information, in an outside system will cause LOTS of extra work and waisted time.
