Globally Assign..

Hi all BUS riders!

Happy Friday!

We created this list for donors to receive the Annual Giving Report, but now the person who is doing the mailing would like them to have the appeal appear on the appeals tab as an appeal they will receive. - PLEASE FORGIVE THESE SILLY QUESTIONS!

I have two questions but only one really works right here.

This one has two parts: Can I globally assign an Annual Giving Reiport appeal to our donor records - I thought I could but something seems to be wrong - not sure, i'm not the one that is trying this.

Second, If that seems impossible Is there a way to import this information without the import ID, I thought there was this possiblity only because you have the choice when importing with either import ID or Constituent ID.

- Education Edge (EE)

to globally add an appeal:

Back up database
create static query of constituents
Admin
Global Add
Appeal - selected records
click on appeal box and add appeal info.

That should work. If not, what problems are you having?

So this is her problem: " our query contains 10K more records than our export - we want to attatch the appeal to our export file not the query file". So how do we do that?...ah I missed a crucial step...

It's Friday..that's my excuse.

If the export file contains either the Constituent Import ID or Constituent ID then what I do is copy that column to a new file and add the necessary Appeal ID (packaga and date too if you want it) and save it as a .csv. I then use that as my import file.
