Each constituent's appeal records includes a "market segment" column, meant for use with the BB Direct Marketing module. However, one can also manually add segment codes to this column. I was hoping I could also run a constituet/appeal import to add the appeal and code for a group of consitituents, but my import guide does not mention the Market Segment field. I suspect we cannot run an import for this field without the BBDM module, but I wondered if any of you import gurus had figured out a way around this?

I was wondering if you had found a way to use the Marketing source codes, segment, mailing ID, etc. without having BBDM? We are getting ready to do a direct mail campaign and it would be great to be able to use this feature.
Thanks,

Thanks,
We decided against placing the segmention codes on the Constituent's Record, because constituents get new codes for every appeal and they could wind up with quite a variety of these codes on their records. Instead, the direct mail company sends me a list of the segment codes for the latest mailing, which I upload to a gift segmentation code table. As each gift is entered in batch, the correct segment code is added to the gift. We have the segment code field set as "required" with a defaut code of "00".
