Export All Constituents in one field

I think this is a newbie *duh* question, but I just can't figure it out:

I am trying to export all my donors for an excel pivot table report (more on that in another post).

My problem is, that I only see the possibility to query for all by:

Constituent Name (last, first)
Organization Name
Which has me creating a new column "names" in Excel and using the formula =IF(isblank(Organization Name), Constituent Name, Organization Name)
That way, my pivot report is sorting off the new column "names" whether they are an organization or an individual.

My addressees are all messed up, so I don't want to use that query option.

Is there any way to pull out organizations and individuals in the same field?

Thanks

I'm not sure I understand.

Yes, I can sort the query and then copy/paste or use my formula, but I just wondered if Raiser's Edge had one field that will allow me to pull out both individual and organization constituents to the same column?

All I can think of is one of the addressee/salutations, and I'm still working on straightening up those so they're intelligible.

Thanks

Sort key is an exportable field. Use that as your column.

Thank you!!!!

Now if I can only figure out my pivot table date grouping issue, I may not have to use Excel!

You're Welcome!

If you're trying to group by fiscal year I gave up on that a while ago.

I believe you could also use the Name field! It IS different than first name, last name.
