We are starting to receive money for an upcoming event and I was suggested to add the different levels as appeals?

Wouldn't the best option be to go through RE's event module (which we have)?

Yes and no.

Event reporting by unit (which is the event module term for levels) is limited (or practically non-functioning). I do not suggesu using appeals as I am a purist when it comes to appeals and I only use them to describe what went out to them to get the gift - not how they responded.

I used gift attributes for units at the advice of a consultant so you can do financial reports (and pivot reports) by units. But I would still use the event module.
