Anyone know where I can score a graphic of the re7 database schema? Or at least a better and concise summary of all the tables and columns than is provided in the documentation. Also, would anyone know how to export all data rather than having to select each column? TIA.
I've worked out the relationship between some tables myself, and I'd be happy to publish it, it's just having the time to get it in a decent form, so don't hold your breath.
If you're using SQL server you can get a list of tables and their columns, and guess the meaning yourself.
In SQL Enterprise manager you right click on the RE7 database, choose "generate SQL script" and select all tables. That generates a script that would recreate the database if you ran it. By looking at it you can see what the tables and columns are called.
As for exporting all data, go to import and choose the option to create an import file, specifying all columns. Counter-intuitively, that exports all the data.
Doug Creek and I have files in the shared files section of this site. Doug's is a partial diagram of the database, mine is a Crystal Report outlining all of the connections to/from each table.
You really don't want a complete diagram of the database. There are about 400 tables in the RE database. If you pull all of these tables and their connections into a diagram, it would be impossible to read.
If you still want to get a diagram, some versions of Visio allow you to "Reverse Engineer" a database. If you have one of those versions, you can create a complete diagram in about a day. I really don't recommend trying this.

I am new to this Forum and new to Raiser's Edge. I am unsuccessful in trying to find the partial db diagram created by Doug's in the shared file section. Could either one of you point me to the right place? Thanks!
Hello, I am a new member. I have downloaded the Crystal documentation. Now where do I find the partial diagram created by DOug Creek? Thank you so much.
I'd also like to get the partial diagram created by Doug Creek if it's still available (link above circles back to this forum page). Thanks to whoever can help!
