Best Non-profit Software for Under $2000?

Any Recommendations out there for non-profit-oriented software for under $2000 (Yeah...hard to get even annual maintenance on BB products at such a price).

Just needs to do the basics: gift entry, mailings, contact info.

Thanks!

Micah

Hi Micah!

I just used this document:

Donor-Management Software Comparison

with a client, and it was helpful for them...maybe it will help you too.

Is there a market for a mid-level system that is simpler than RE, but not an open-source hosted solution? I'm in talks with a guy who thinks that might be a fun project to take on. When was the last time a fundraising CRM system got written from the ground up specifically with the goal of serving small or mid-level orgs?

Thanks, Peter.

On the Techsoup page someone did post a slightly more updated matrix to include CiviCRM. Speaking of which, it and SugarCRM are really interesting projects, but the gift entry and reporting capabilities (reporting in general) are immature or out right lacking.

So far GiftWorks is looking like a strong candidate and regarding usability + features + price, well, it even makes me look at Raiser Edge with a raised eyebrow.

Giftworks doesn't appear to have any alumni management capabilities.

Absolutely right, Peter - it's not a kitchen sink, optional modules kind of solution. For small and medium non-profits who are not the education sector, could be pretty good.

Check out Salesforce (Salesforce.com Foundation). They have an online system & a donation program for nonprofits. You can sign up for a trial to check it out.
