Rep Power: 0 | Questions about Lifetime Email Solutions Hi Everyone,
We are looking to provide lifetime email addresses to our alumni, and currently we are exploring options using Exchange, or possible an open source forwarder. I had a few questions for anyone who may know more about this or has had experience starting a lifetime email solution.
Currently we are leaning towards our own hosted solution using the campus exchange server, however we have a few questions.
Does anyone have experience of how this will scale?
We graduate around 300 students each year, but I am unsure how to handle the additional ~12,000 alumni who may want one.
Do you remove users or otherwise disable inactive accounts?
What storage size have you decided to go with?
Do you leave the address as their student one or give them a new address?
Any other miscelaneous advice or tips? We currently don't have the budget etc to get a full blown BBNC.
Thanks, I hope this is in the right area, I haven't found anything searching here. |
