Vertical Response

Hello All! This is my first time posting to this board...though I have been getting great information from all of you by watching other threads. This forum is fantastic!

Anyway...my simple question is: Has anyone used Vertical Response to manage their e-newsletter lists? I read a thread on here recommending Constant Contact, but Vertical Response has one feature that CC doesn't that is making me sway toward them. I'd like to see if anyone has used VR and has any comments.

Vertical Response allows me to put a code on my website pages to track click-throughs. So not only can I see who opened my emails and what links they clicked, I can then see if they eventually navigate through the site to our giving page and I can even see if they wind up making a donation. Very useful, but I like the reporting and user interface with Constant Contact better. Vertical REsponse seems to take a long time to send the emails out and to update the reports.

After having a look at their website, it appears that you've got to host your data on their servers.

For me, that's a dealbreaker. It violates most of the privacy and the national privacy principals in Australia (Federal Legislation)

Hi Jody

I'm the CEO of VerticalResponse. Why don't you do a head to head test of both products and see fully which one you like? Some like our features better and some like Constant Contact's. You should see for yourself. It shouldn't cost you anything to do it either.

I would never host my data on someone else's server... that allows your data to be held hostage.

Yes, it has happened to me at a previous organization.

I've been using VerticalResponse since June for our weekly & monthly e-newsletters. I've sent out over 150,000 emails so far, and have been extremely pleased with VR. Their support is also excellent; they have live chat support and emails are always responded to the same day. And for our nonprofit, VR's integration with Salesforce is key.
