Has anyone explored the potential reamifications from the changing of Daylight Savings Time(DST) from the first Sunday in April to the second Sunday in March? Luckily Blackbaud does not do scheduling, but this includes Microsoft products such as Outlook and your servers. I am going to a planning meeting this afternoon to see how much our hospital has to do to be prepared for this event. There is an article about this from Microsoft that you can read at Daylight Saving Time Help and Support Center
to help you understand and plan for it.
This is great! It reminds me of the pre-Y2K days! Ahhh...
I wouldn't worry about it though, just apply the patch and cross your fingers. What's the worse that could happen in BB - maybe some timestamps will be off by an hour (during that 4 week extended period) but that's not even noticable from the front end (at least as far as I can tell).
I wonder if I could get a job as a "DST consultant" - really milk this thing!
We updated our servers and PC's this past weekend using Altirius to send the patch. We have over 2500 PC's in our organization and I heard that we have about 80 that we have to find and update manually. The overwhelming majority of servers are Windows 2K. We were not worried about BB, but in Groupwise where we store our appointments.
