(I notice your request didn't limit responses to
BB:NC sites, so here's my top pick so far):
http://www.xavier.edu/alumni - Designed by Hanson Dodge Creative, powered by iModules.
I think this site is great, both from a design standpoint as well as integration of personalized data for a member. ( Although you can't fully appreciate that part of if you're not logged in. ) It also serves a number of constituencies--not strictly alumni. They use it as a vehicle to engage students, donors, alumni, business partners, etc...
The entire "Great Wonders" Channel is really well done. If you poke around the Annual Fund pages, there are some neat things there as well. The best part is that each member is assigned a regional development contact and when logged in, that customized information is displayed for them rather than the general fund contact. Goes towards building a personal relationship with a specific development staffer rather than a generic inbox.
Same for giving messages--e.g. if you're logged in as an Edgecliff alum, then you see specific giving messages and articles (Edgecliff was a women's school that merged at some point). That personalized level is sort of the next level for development sites. I'll post a couple screenshots of the logged in portion if interested.
