Exclamation what the..?

I just called BBNC customer support to ask them for help in resizing a cell in a table in an email template and was REFUSED assistance.

I was told that this was a design issue and support does not provide assistance with design. We then went round and round on how I was asking for help in USING the software and not seeking guidance about design...

I've emailed and phoned my enterprise acct manager and am waiting for a reply.

Is there something I'm missing in trying to resize a cell? changing the width in the cell and row properties did nothing. trying to do this by hovering over the border until it turns red simply does not work. Is this just a crappy tool for designing tables or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

And editing in HTML doesn't solve the problem?
You could copy/paste the HTML here and we could have a look.

That's crummy about support. They should have at least just helped you with the problem after you had to go back and forth about it, and then say something like, well, in the future please keep in mind we don't offer this type of support.

Yes, do post the HTML here and see if we can take a stab at it.

i was able to get this sorted by contacting someone else who uses BBNC. also, i had posted this same message on the blackbaud forum (where I rarely venture), and I received a call from Blackbaud about an hour later informing me that I should have received assistance on this in the first instance when I called support and that the person to whom I had spoken originally had been told that my question was a legitimate one to direct to support.

thanks everyone for offering to help!

I'm glad you got resolution - I was going to suggest that you try to call again. Remember that the advice you get from calling any customer assistance line depends on the person you happen to get on the other end at the time - their knowledge in the area you are asking about, and unfortunately their lack of same mixed with an ego problem (or just somebody having a bad day and taking it out on you) can make for trouble.

When you are pretty certain you have an issue that wasn't handled properly, I'd call again and get someone else and start over.

(This from someone who's worked in reception for many a year - been on both ends of similar situations many times - and I certainly hope I never treat a caller that way - even if he had been right, it shouldn't have been handled that way.)
