Question Avoiding duplicate business mailings

If we have a constituent who only has a business address, and a record for the business with the consitutent as a contact, is there a setting somewhere in mail and export where I can mark it to only pull one of them for a mailing? I feel like I must be missing a checkbox somewhere and I keep having to manually dedup my mailings.

on the Org Address tab of templates you create in Mail, you can check it to send to Contacts only and you can choose which contact types to mail to.

Would that mean that I need to create a special contact type for everyone in the database whose constituent preferred address is the same as their business address, so that I can specifically exclude them?

Karen,
You have a further option on that tab to tell the system what to do if a Contact also receives the mailing as an Individual (Step 2:Contact Info). You can tell it to mail to the address of their Ind. record, the address on the contact record, or to both separately. These settings only apply if both the individual AND the org. for which they are Contacts are included in the mailing.
