We're still running RE 7.71 with an upgrade happening in a couple weeks. I've continued running Office 2003 on my machine due to the fact that Office 2007 is not compatabile with 7.71. However, my IT guy wants me to install a new software build due to spyware issues on my PC - that means I'll have Office 2007. Is there a work-around with the incompatability issue? Has anyone found a way to make Mail work with 7.71 and Office 2007?

Hey Robin,
I seriously doubt you'll be able to avoid getting Office 2007 and still be able to perform functions in RE 7.71 that use Word. Also, if you upgrade your client to 7.85, you'll need to upgrade the server and thus everyone else (as you may already know).
I would say the only options are for you to either:
- install RE 7.71 on another computer and use that computer for two weeks
- move up the upgrade.
- see if you can convince your IT guy to allow you to uninstall office 2007 and install 2003 just for 2 weeks until you complete your upgrade.
Hope this helps,
Eric
