Queue Corrput Email Attachments

Has anyone had any experience with Queue sending corrputed email attachments. Blackbaud support says it has soemthing to do with MIME settings and suggest using
8BITMME setting on our Exchange 2007 server but they do not have any examples of this actually working for clients. They suggest a fix will be available in 7.86 but I just bought this to automate standard report creation and delivery. I am not very eager to tell my CEO that Blackbaud sold us something that doesn't work.

Queue

We had the same problem and have been waiting for a "fix" since february. The basics of what I have been able to figure out is they get corrupted when you use the sceheduled queue. For some reason if you go and manually run them they work but if you schedule them they are corrupt. It also seems like the ones that are scheduled that get corrupted are more likely to be emails that are off of your mail server (i.e. gmail, yahoo, etc) So our solution is I just have to manually run all of these queues each week. The other issue with the queue we have run into is if you create a custom crystal report, and try to add it as a queue it just won't work, manually or scheduled. I know its not good news but maybe it will save you some of the research time since I have already tried it.

Thanks for the update. Support told me they were doing a significant rewrite for 7.86 and my account exec told me that it was currently being tested.

It is funny how it works if run manually but not scheduled. We are experiencing the same situation. The manually method actually calls for outlook while the schedule method uses the SMTP which I think is the issue. It pretty much defeats the purpose of Queue to have to manually run it.

In other softwares that do the same they they create an Active Directory account which user rights to Exchange - I wonder why BB did'nt do the same. Maybe it is coming.

It is pretty disappointing that BB would release a module with such a significant flaw.

Were you able to get any $$$ back because the module was not preforming correctly? With other vendors - I've been able to get some concessions which seem only right.

THanks,

Scott

We had other issues with trying to get Raisers edge to transfer to Quickbooks so they ended up giving us a big discount on the purchase of Financial Edge so that they would integrate properly. That was the initial concession they made but now that I believe 7.86 isn't scheduled to be out until early next year I think I'm going to approach them about something else because that will be a year of it not working for us by the time they fix the issue (assuming it is fixed then, which I don't have a lot of confidence in at this point).

By the way they have the same issue in Financial Edge just in case someone else reads this post.
