I was perusing the Bb website to see what they've put up on the public pages, and I found an interesting press release titled "Blackbaud Hits the Road with Interactive [free] Seminar Series
Focused on Fundraising During a Recession. That sounded all warm, fuzzy, and interesting. And then at the bottom, this was attached:
Forward-looking Statements
Except for historical information, all of the statements, expectations, and assumptions contained in this news release are forward-looking statements that involve a number of risks and uncertainties. Although Blackbaud attempts to be accurate in making these forward-looking statements, it is possible that future circumstances might differ from the assumptions on which such statements are based. In addition, other important factors that could cause results to differ materially include the following: risks related to the expected financial or other benefits of the recent Kintera acquisition; uncertainty regarding increased business and renewals from existing customers; continued success in sales growth; general economic risks; management of integration of acquired companies and other risks associated with acquisitions, including the recent acquisition of Kintera, Inc.; risk associated with successful implementation of multiple integrated software products; uncertainty regarding increased business and renewals from existing customers; continued success in sales growth; general economic risks; the ability to attract and retain key personnel; risks related to our dividend policy and share repurchase program, including potential limitations on our ability to grow and the possibility that we might discontinue payment of dividends; risks relating to restrictions imposed by the credit facility; risks associated with management of growth; lengthy sales and implementation cycles, particularly in larger organizations; technological changes that make our products and services less competitive; and the other risk factors set forth from time to time in the SEC filings for Blackbaud, copies of which are available free of charge at the SEC's website at U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (Home Page) upon request from Blackbaud's investor relations department. LOL, true. I am waiting on a "We are not responsible for carpal tunnel syndrome experienced from overuse of data entry when using our products." Probably not too far behind
Actually I think estate agents (that's realtors to Americans, I believe) are next in line.
I agree, Simon! 23 years ago, prior to being reincarnated into the non-profit life, I was a realtor in Orlando. Sales contracts were 2 legal pages long. Last month we finally sold our house in Tampa and bought a new one in the Sarasota area. The contracts are now 18 legal pages with an addendum that is an additional 6 pages long.
And now the hospitals and doctors are making you sign a form that you won't sue them with trial by a jury if they happen to remove your liver instead of your ruptured appendix. If you don't sign they don't operate.

Pior to my reincarnation into the non profit world I worked for an insurance company... tackling unpaid premiums no less!!
Michael, I have a two year plan to "get ready" to purchase a home, but reading that part about a 24 page contract ACK! even a little more intimidating than it was just a few seconds ago

LOL - thanks for the morning chuckle, Robert! No, it's probably MUCH safer not to post it, even if it wasn't expressly forbidden in the text - anyone who needs a disclaimer that long... Yikes!
