Hi everybody. I am applying for a job that uses Blackbaud. I need to use Dragon Naturally Speaking voice recognition. Dragon iis not compatible with everything. It works with the Microsoft Office database, but not with ACT!, for instance.
Has anyone had any experience with voice recognition and Blackbaud?
I used Dragon with RE 6 a while ago. It should be OK with 7, you will probably need to use a lot of the alt keys. For example if you're in query and you want to go to records you say (I've forgotten the exact commands) alt g, r, enter.
We installed it here and had a few goofy things happen. I don't recall exactly but it had to do with Notes, I think. The constituent record would minimize at weird times. Not randomly, when saving a note or action. So the record would need to be maximized and then closed. It just created an extra step when doing data entry. We ended up removing it from that pc. I wasn't completely involved in the whole process so my knowledge is a little fuzzy. Sorry. RE wasn't broken, just weird.
