We used to be able to use a copy of our live data as the test database. Now it won't let us attached the renamed database. Is there a workaround to this?
Thanks.

You cannot have a database with the same serial number on the same BMC. You need to install the BMC on another server (or for test another workstation will do) so that you can use the copy of live there.
For our developers we have been looking at the option of having a 'sandbox' database on their local hard drive while having the ability to access the "network" database for the test (QA) and production (live) environment.
I have tried to set this up using a local of the sample db (using a local instance of SQL server) and made the registry changes (as per Davids suggestion) but we seen to be running into a 'trusted connection issue for REUSER' after the RE application is launched and attempt is made to access the local.
Were you successful in setting up your test database ?
Thx

I know that there have been issues with this and we had to make users who were accessing these pseudo servers as local admins otherwise we would get such security errors.
[Jim DiGiovanni] we have SQL Enterprise & 'restore from Backup' to a
separate server; about all that I sthen required is to remove REUser
from the test DB (it'll still be there in Security logins)& recreate it
in the TEST DB so Windows-authenticated RE users can then connect to the
DB; if you're using BMC, then I think you might need a special util form BB that lets you change the serial number on the TES DB because RE needs
it to be unique
