I am getting so tired of seeing that stupid message every time I try and look up something in knowledge base - I finally needed to vent about it.

Any idea how often any of those "suggestions" actually get put into place?

Peter's suggestion is the best option for this. Strength in numbers. If a bunch of us have interest in an enhancement then there is a better change of having it implemented. It's really not feasible for Blackbaud to implement every single good idea their clients come up with no matter how good it is.

We've "discussed" this topic several times on this Forum, and I believe the answer to your question of how often any of the suggestions gets put into place is somewhere between once in a blue moon and NEVER!!

But don't be discouraged because as Peter mentioned, we have the IDEAS section here.

As the time to the Charleston conference approaches, the IDEAS votes are tallied and the most popular are brought to BB reps by the good conference attendees/forum members.

It's the best way we have of communicating our RE requests.

last just post it to Blackbus ideas every time you get meaningless "This has been filed as a suggestion" response from BB, we would not only better now about the unresolved problems but also get some statistics regarding response to most common problems reported to BB

Feel free to correct me if I am stating falsehoods but I got the impression from one of our annual meetings with Blackbaud that the "add me to the list" feature is actually a simply website hit tally and not really a list at all. However, I would continue to do it because it tallies everyone including non blackbus members.

But as others have said, use the ideas section here. It gives you a better opportunity to fully explain the issue you have and what needs to change and why. And your name and all of us who voted for it are attached and we can add comments as well.

One thing I believe we are successful in conveying during our annual "list of demands" meeting (as I like to call it) is that they did not realize that some focus needs to be made to the little annoying things like window sizes, tab orders and field names which do not create a true functionality problem but can really slow an office down.

They had made their primary focus fixing major issues like reports not functioning etc. and while that needs to be a focus it would be nice to have some developers focusing on the annoying. And with RE7 phasing out for RE8 they have been focusing on these issues for the last few releases. We only hope that RE8 does not revert back to including some of these annoying issues (or create new ones).

If that is true, then BB is certainly misrepresenting that whole "Add me to the List" feature. And how many clients have been duped into believing real change/improvements could occur if enough folks added their names??

Is there a BB rider on the Bus who will come clean about this "Add me to the List" ? Just a gimmick to see how many hits there are, or are there "lists" which are just meaningless and ignored anyway or???

It is a counter - that is true. It is used as one piece of a larger
set of criteria that are used to determine priorities for the
programming folk.

Our argument has been that it should be able to tell our story better
and have more weight in the decision process.

I did not meant to imply that it was meaningless because I do believe that the count is important to them and does prompt change or at least attention (sometimes it is decided not to change). As I said I would still do it as it gives them the numbers they need but then come here to give meat to the suggestion.

Those who spoke on it also spoke about the software used for the KB and they realize that they both need to change but it takes a long time and a lot of effort to change the KB software.
