Well I think the little "cheat sheet" for Search Options, that Walter Koenig came up with (posted on the BB forum) was great.
Even though I knew all these, I can never remember them when it comes time to explain them to others and never took the time to write them down.
Search Option Tips:
1. Three of the checkboxes are grayed out until you enter something in the last/org name search field.
2.The fourth one that's grayed out, "Check nickname," is grayed out until you enter something in the first name search field.
3. If you want the boxes to remain checked for future searches, you must actually run a search (but you don't have to open any of the records found).
4. If you click on the New Search button on the right of the screen, the grayed-out boxes you have checked will be unchecked.
5. And by the way, although the NEW SEARCH button unchecks the grayed-out checkboxes on the Constituent Search Screen (without telling you), the PREVIOUS SEARCH button doesn't mess with the grayed-out keys. It's OK to use that button to recreate your previous search without having to type in the search keys (very handy).
They were a great set of tips. I learned something and got to copy instead retyping for our procedure manual. Thanks Walter!

I just learned something new on the BB forum, thanks to Jo Ward.
If you put in current system date (or hit F5 while in the date field) in your default set for an attribute date, tribute Date From or just about any date it will load the current date when you load your default set.
I did not know this and I love it! As I said on the BB forum, still learning after all these years.
F5 does nothing for me. F3 will automatically insert the date into a date field (attribute date, action date, any date in query criteria, just to name a few).
Are these the same areas you are talking about the F5 working?
Yes, F3 is what you want to use if you are in the record and just want to put in the date.
I am talking about in a default set, so when you load your defaults, you don't have to go to the attribute tab or open the tribute record and use use F3 to put in the date. The date will already be there.
I LOVE IT!! I was wondering how you could set that up! Thanks Jo (& Denise for bringing it up here). L

I think Melissa Siobhan's suggestion suggestion for updating Participant records in the Records Forum under Tracking Attendance Through Actions should be the Tip of the Month. What a time saver!!

Thanks guys! I feel a bit silly since it is just pointing out a feature already there but if it helps...
Can I make a suggestion that the tips of the month not only be listed on the supporting advancement website but have their own spot here on this website. I do not use the supporting advancement website.
