I am a rookie Access user and the Forum has helped me in the past with an Access table and report, so I'm hoping that you can help again.

I have a phone directory in an Access database table and a report set up also in Access to print the directory.
My problem is--I have added two new entries for the directory in the Access database table and have sorted the table.
The new entries are in the correct order in the Access database table, but when I preview the Access report the two new entries are listed first on the report with the rest of the directory in correct alphabetical order following them.

How do I get the two new entries to fall into the correct place in the report?

Please help...I need to have this report ready for distibution by March 1.

Go into your report under design view and there you can move your fields around.

After further review I think that I misread your post. What I think you have is:

Jones
Smith
Adams
Baker
Campbell

If you based your report on a Query, check the query to see if you are sorting by another field. Also check under the report for the design view and find sorting and grouping to see what you are sorting on is different than what you want.

I knew there must be an easy way to solve this!!

Your suggestion on sorting and grouping the report was the solution to my problem!!

Now everyone is in the correct order and all is right with the world again... and I will meet my deadline!

This forum always provides me with the help I need.

I don't know what I would do if I didn't have all of you to reach out to when I am having a problem.
