What we do is use the receipt amount field for the tax deductible
portion of their sponsorship and the gift amount for the total
sponsorship amount. So our letter says something like: thank you for
your $10,000.00 sponsorship, of which $4,400.00 is tax deductible.

Subject: [Mail-t-3535] acknowledgement letters and conditional mail
merge
Hi All,
I am trying to create acknowledgement letters with a calculated fair
market value and can't figure out how to do it.
So, it happens to be a golfing event.
For team sponsorships -
12 players - $25,000 FMV - $8,400 Tax deductible - $16,600
8 players - $10.000 FMV - $5,600 Tax deductible - $4,400
4 players - $5,000 FMV - $2,800 Tax deductible - $2,200
2 players - $2,500 FMV - $1,400 Tax deductible - $1,100
1 player - $1,250 FMV - $700 Tax deductible - $550
Our event manager wants to the letter to merge in tax deductible amount
based on the ticket purchase.
The statement goes something like this:
"For IRS purposes, the fair market value of your sponsorship is .
Therefore, the amount of is your charitible contribution."
What kind-of operator do I use and how? I'm stumped.
Thanks all,
Wendy
