The Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Calif., seeks a detail oriented and organized individual for the position of Database Administrator/Development Researcher. This is a unique and significant opportunity to help build the premier institution in the world dedicated to exploring the international computer revolution and its impact on the human experience. Position Summary The position of Development Research and Database Administration reports to the Director of Development and has primary responsibility for prospect research and the accuracy and completeness of the Museum’s fundraising database, including entering and tracking information about donors and fundraising efforts, generating reports and gift acknowledgments. This central staff position requires the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups, including colleagues, volunteers, members of the Silicon Valley corporate community, donors and their families. Responsibilities Proactively conduct development-related research to update existing profiles and identify new prospects Organize weekly donor prospect meetings Respond to research requests from Museum staff, volunteers and Trustees Help to generate prospect profile reports to assist with solicitations made by staff, volunteers and Trustees Update and maintain the Raiser’s Edge development database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on Museum donors Assist in generating regular fundraising reports, analyses and statistical information Process member, donor and sponsor renewal notices, pledge reminders, and gift acknowledgments Support donor stewardship activities Troubleshoot Raiser’s Edge problems, support software upgrades and additions, and other database-related issues Assist in bulk mailing projects such as calendar and fiscal year-end mailings Update and maintain donor lists for the donor wall, website, Core magazine, etc. Provide database support for development-related special events (e.g., Fellow Awards, private tours, etc.) Other duties as assigned Additional Qualifications: Required Qualifications, Attributes and Skills Results-oriented team player with optimistic attitude who takes initiative as an independent worker Ability to prioritize tasks and work accurately under deadlines and the pressure of a fast-paced work environment Ability to handle multiple assignments at once, while paying strict attention to detail Excellent problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills; diplomacy in dealing with the public and colleagues alike Interest in the computing technology industry and people ?
