The successful candidate will support the varied goals of the Gift Processing and Donor Records department. The position includes gift entry and records tracking, and is newly defined to require a strong understanding of relational data base structure. S/he will execute and participate in team support for the creation of queries and extractions, the utilization of system reports, and the evolution of data mining activities. Responsibilities includes: Entering gift and donor information into the Tessitura Software System. Supports data integrity and maintenance of the Volunteer Services activities as contained in a specialized volunteer tab (file) within the system. Works with staff and volunteers entering data into the system. Provides support to members of the Development department in the understanding and use of various gift protocols and membership reports. Participates in a newly created Development Data Management Team that receives advanced training in the creation of extractions and similar tools for accurate information retrieval from the Tessitura database. Executes and provides support, as part of the Development Data Management Team, in extractions for mailings and other defined output needs. Builds and utilizes a working knowledge of data mining and associated applications for the BSO. Assists with other daily processing and reconciling activities as directed, and provides support for other projects as assigned by the Assistant Manager for Gift Processing and Donor Records and/or the Director of Development Administration. Additional Qualifications: College degree with an emphasis in computer skills and a working knowledge of relational data base functions. Knowledge of data tracking and data extraction. Proficiency in computer skills and data entry. Ability to work in a team environment to formulate solutions for data presentation and retrieval. Exhibit strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording information. Knowledge of the non-profit environment preferred. Desire to learn about donor giving and fundraising implications. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously and to work calmly under pressure of deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
