BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST - Advancement Information Systems Job Requisition Number: 4834 The Tufts University Advancement Information Systems (AIS) department supports the 150+ person University Advancement division in its fundraising and alumni relations efforts. The Advancement Information Systems team is looking for a self-motivated, detail-orientated individual to fill the available Business Systems Analyst position. Applying his/her knowledge of Advancement best practices and excellent analytical skills, this individual will define requirements for new reports, business processes, and programming needs. The Business Systems Analyst will work closely with both end-users and programmers to develop functional and technical specifications for reports, system enhancements, and refinements to business processes. This position will also provide ad-hoc reports to end-users utilizing SQL. The Business Systems Analyst plays a key role in managing the team's project queue and in maintaining excellent customer relations between the Information Systems team and University Advancement staff. Required qualifications: This position requires a strong understanding of relational databases and a demonstrable grasp of SQL, with desire to learn more. Excellent customer service and analytical skills are essential. The successful candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work well independently; ability to multitask, prioritize and manage multiple projects with different deadlines; ability to draft materials and findings while obtaining direction from supervisor on a regular basis; and the flexibility to deal with end-users who are not always technologically proficient. The ability to meet tight deadlines is critical. Preferred qualifications: A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred but relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Familiarity with Advancement and Alumni Relations practices, strategies, and industry standards is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Advance v.7 or higher preferred.
