Director of Development for Computing and Information Sciences, NY
The Director of Development works with colleagues across the Division of Alumni Affairs and Development to plan and implement an integrated program of activities to maximize support for CIS and ensure that fundraising goals and priorities are met on a timely basis. This person serves as a resident consultant for the dean in all fundraising matters; set annual and long-term fundraising goals for CIS; develop and implement overall strategic plan; evaluate progress and report on results; act as a point person in prioritizing and coordinating dean’s travel for AAD-related initiatives; manage dean’s involvement with prospects and donors; establish and coordinate dean’s role at events and in prospect meetings, solicitations, etc. Located in Ithaca, N.Y., Cornell University is a bold, innovative, inclusive and dynamic teaching and research university where staff, faculty, and students alike are challenged to make an enduring contribution to the betterment of humanity. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required and five to seven years of related experience. Must have strong writing and communication skills; thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of University development and fund raising; knowledge of modern management practices and techniques including data-based computerized information systems; excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated commitment to institutional advancement in higher education; ability to work effectively in a team environment—with a mix of alumni, corporate and staff colleagues.
